PIC recognizes that, sadly, we will be in the same spot years from now if we do not begin to do things differently to support individuals living in under-resourced communities.
Past decades have proven that the problem-focused service model, while vital and necessary in the short term, is inadequate in enabling people to change their long-term trajectory.
PIC offers a new approach, training volunteer coaches to serve as supportive one-to-one partners with adult community members who want to build turnaround strategies for themselves and their families.
Fully realized, Partners in Change seeks to deploy a critical mass of volunteer coaches and create a tipping point in Atlanta’s effort to substantially reduce poverty.
Coaching is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning
in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.
